February 2027 is set to bring an exciting new endurance adventure to Thailand.

Thailand Cycle Tours is launching a unique 10-Day Cycling & Triathlon Training Camp combining structured endurance training with an incredible point-to-point journey through southern Thailand.

Led by former professional cyclist and multiple age-group World Champion triathlete Will Clarke, the camp travels from Bangkok to Phuket, with 8 days of cycling, approximately 773–817 km on the bike, 4 structured swims and 4 runs.

Designed for athletes preparing for long-course triathlon, endurance cycling events, or simply looking to take their training to the next level, the programme combines quality cycling, structured swim and run sessions, tropical heat acclimatisation and an unforgettable journey through Thailand.

And throughout the camp, one thing remains at its heart:

The bike. 🚴

Train with Will Clarke

Will Clarke brings an extraordinary level of professional racing and endurance experience to the camp.

He competed as a professional cyclist at the highest level for ten years, riding for elite WorldTour teams including Leopard Trek, Cannondale-Drapac and Trek-Segafredo.

Highly regarded for his prologue and time-trialling abilities, Clarke secured a memorable WorldTour victory at the Santos Tour Down Under. His strength against the clock and ability in breakaways also earned him stage victories at races including the Tour of Iran, Herald Sun Tour, Tour of Japan, Tour of Austria, Tours of Taiwan and Kumano, and Volta a Portugal.

Following his elite cycling career, Clarke successfully transitioned into triathlon and became a multiple Tasmanian Triathlon Champion, competing across distances from Sprint through to 70.3.

His success has also extended to the world stage. In 2024, he secured two Age Group 35–39 World Championship titles, winning the World Triathlon Long Course Championship in Townsville and the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Taupō.

Today, Will applies his extensive competitive experience to coaching endurance athletes with Ogging Fit and leading international training experiences.

In February 2027, athletes will have the opportunity to bring that experience into their own training while riding, swimming and running across Thailand.

A Training Camp That Travels Across Thailand

This isn’t a training camp where you stay in one hotel and ride the same roads every day.

The journey itself becomes the training camp.

Starting in Bangkok, athletes progressively make their way south through Thailand, passing through Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ban Krut, Chumphon, Sawi, Surat Thani and Cheow Lan Lake before the final journey towards Phuket.

Along the way, you’ll experience tropical coastal roads, peaceful countryside, fishing communities, jungle landscapes and mountain scenery.

The programme has been carefully structured so the training load builds progressively, while the opening days give athletes time to adapt to Thailand’s heat, humidity and new training environment.

More Than Just a Cycling Camp

While cycling is at the heart of the programme, this is a true multi-discipline endurance experience.

Across the 10 days, athletes will complete:

🚴 Approximately 773–817 km of Cycling

Eight cycling days progress from easy aerobic riding through long endurance sessions, controlled tempo work, threshold efforts and race-specific training.

The programme includes everything from a relaxed 65 km opening ride to a major 120–164 km long aerobic endurance day.

The final cycling day brings another challenge: 99 km with approximately 643 metres of elevation, including the famous Jungle Climb before descending towards Phang Nga.

🏊 Four Structured Swim Sessions

The swimming programme includes four open-water sessions in very different environments.

Athletes begin with a 1,500–2,000 m easy ocean swim, followed later in the camp by a 2,000–2,500 m moderate ocean session and a 2,500–3,000 m recovery swim.

One of the major highlights comes at Cheow Lan Lake, where athletes complete a 2,500–3,500 m open-water sessionincorporating sustained aerobic and race-effort swimming.

The sessions are designed to develop sighting, technique, efficiency, open-water confidence and the ability to maintain form while fatigued.

🏃 Four Runs

Running is strategically incorporated into the programme rather than simply adding unnecessary training volume.

The camp includes brick runs following key cycling sessions, helping athletes become comfortable transitioning from bike to run and developing race-specific familiarity.

There is also a flexible recovery run on Day 6, which athletes carrying additional fatigue can shorten or skip.

Training That Progresses with You

One of the key features of the camp is its progressive training structure.

The first ride from Bangkok to Hua Hin is deliberately relaxed, allowing athletes to settle into the camp and begin adapting to Thailand’s climate.

From there, the workload develops.

Day 3 introduces a 115 km endurance ride followed by an easy brick run.

Day 4 brings the first controlled quality session with a 78 km tempo ride and moderate ocean swim.

Day 5 is one of the major cycling days: a 131 km key endurance and quality ride, followed by a controlled brick run.

Then the programme deliberately backs off.

A Dedicated Recovery Day

After the major Day 5 training load, Day 6 is a recovery day.

Athletes complete a relaxed 2,500–3,000 m swim focused on technique, efficiency, aerobic recovery and open-water confidence.

Those feeling good can also complete a very easy 20–30 minute recovery run, while athletes carrying fatigue can shorten or skip the run entirely.

It’s an important part of the programme: training hard when it matters, but also understanding when the body needs to recover.

The Final Push

The final stages of the camp bring some of its biggest training challenges.

Day 7 features an 80 km quality bike session incorporating controlled threshold efforts, followed by a moderate race-specific brick run.

Day 8 is the biggest pure endurance stimulus of the camp, with a 120–164 km long aerobic ride.

No swimming. No running. No intervals.

The focus is simply on long-distance endurance, consistent pacing, nutrition, hydration, heat management, efficient riding and fatigue resistance.

Day 9 shifts from volume to race-specific work with an 85 km bike ride, followed by one of the highlights of the entire camp: a 2,500–3,500 m swim in Cheow Lan Lake.

The Final Ride to Phuket 🌴

The final day brings a 99 km ride with approximately 643 metres of elevation through scenic countryside and tropical landscapes towards Phang Nga.

And there’s one final challenge waiting:

The Jungle Climb.

It’s the last major climbing challenge of the camp before a rewarding descent towards Phang Nga.

Rather than being an all-out race, the final ride is designed to be challenging but enjoyable—a chance to put 10 days of accumulated training into practice while enjoying the scenery and the final ride together.

The group then celebrates with a farewell lunch in Phang Nga before transferring approximately one hour to Nai Yang Beach in Phuket, where the adventure concludes.

Who Is This Camp For?

This camp is designed for athletes who want to:

  • Build long-course cycling endurance
  • Prepare for an IRONMAN or other long-distance triathlon
  • Develop fatigue resistance through consecutive training days
  • Practise bike-to-run transitions
  • Improve race-specific cycling fitness
  • Gain confidence swimming in open water
  • Experience training in a hot and humid environment
  • Combine serious endurance training with an incredible cycling adventure through Thailand

The programme is challenging, but the emphasis is on smart endurance training rather than racing every kilometre.

Athletes should therefore be comfortable completing long-distance rides and managing multiple consecutive training days.

Professional Training Meets Thailand Cycle Tours Support

A 10-day point-to-point training camp requires much more than great roads and challenging sessions.

It requires excellent support.

Thailand Cycle Tours brings years of experience operating fully supported multi-day cycling tours throughout Thailand.

The camp includes 9 nights in 3–4★ hotels with breakfast, along with 6 dinners, 8 lunches, snacks and drinks during rides.

Athletes will also receive a jersey, rucksack and water bottle, while a professional guide and support minibus accompany the journey.

Optional bike rental is also available, including:

  • Carbon or aluminium road bikes
  • Carbon E-road bikes
  • Touring E-bikes

This means our team can take care of the logistics behind the journey while athletes concentrate on what matters most:

Training. Recovery. Performance. And enjoying Thailand.
