The Best Time to Ride: Thailand's Cycling Seasons

When to Visit

Planning Your Perfect Cycling Holiday

Thailand and Southeast Asia at large are fantastic cycling destinations year-round, but understanding the seasons can help you choose the best time for your adventure.

Each period offers a unique experience, from the cool, dry months ideal for long rides to the lush green landscapes of the rainy season. Explore below to find out what to expect.

NOV - FEB

The Cool & Dry Season

Often considered the best time to cycle in Thailand. Expect pleasant temperatures (20-30°C), lower humidity, and plenty of sunshine. Ideal for comfortable long-distance riding and enjoying clear views. This is peak tourist season, so popular spots can be busier.

MAR - JUN

The Warm & Dry Season

Temperatures rise (27-35°C), and it can get quite hot, especially midday. Rides often start earlier. The landscape remains largely dry. It’s a good time for those who enjoy warmer weather and want to avoid the main tourist crowds of the cool season. Hydration is key!

JUL - OCT

The Rainy (Green) Season

Characterized by tropical rain showers, which are often heavy but usually short-lived, followed by returning sunshine. Temperatures remain warm (25-34°C). The landscape becomes lush and green, and waterfalls are at their best. Fewer tourists mean a quieter experience. Our tours continue to run, with flexibility to adapt to weather.
