Go on a 12-day cycling journey from Southern Thailand to the beautiful island of Langkawi in Malaysia. This tour offers a balance of adventure and relaxation, taking you along scenic roads, through jungle trails, and into villages off the beaten path.

Itinerary

Day 01 :
Phuket - Phang Nga (99 km, 690m ascent)

Meet at 8 AM at Nai Yang Beach (pre-night accommodation options available). After bike fitting, your journey begins across the Sarasin Bridge to the mainland. Cycle through scenic rubber plantations to the Phang Nga Bay Skywalk for breathtaking views, then enjoy coffee and lunch before the final kilometers to our hotel in Phang Nga.

Day 02 :
Phang Nga - Khao Sok (91 km, 800m ascent)

Begin with a scenic ride through the jungle, featuring a 5 km climb. After 50 km, a coffee break recharges you before continuing along a picturesque road ascending to the dam at Cheow Lan Lake. We spend the night at a beautiful resort in Khao Sok National Park.

Day 03 :
Khao Sok - Surat Thani (94 km, 499m ascent)

Today we cycle through vibrant fruit orchards and rubber plantations, heading towards Surat Thani. The day concludes at a peaceful riverside hotel just outside the city.

Day 04 :
Surat Thani - Sichon (129 km, 590m ascent)

Our ride takes us through Namtok Si Khit National Park to the charming beach town of Khanom. From there, cycle the famous scenic "rollercoaster road" to Sichon, where we spend two nights at the luxurious Cabana Beach Resort.

Day 06 :
Sichon - Kiriwong (105 km, 329m ascent)

Cycle along the sea through coconut, rambutan, mangosteen, and durian plantations en route to Kiriwong, near Khao Luang National Park. This area is known for its fresh air and lush surroundings. The afternoon is free to explore the mountain town.

Day 07 :
Kiriwong - Thung Song (62 km, 515m ascent)

Day 08 :
Thung Song - Patthalung Lake (120 km, 769m ascent)

The day begins with a flat section before passing through Khao Pu Khao Ya National Park, featuring a beautiful rainforest ride with some climbs. Cycle along a scenic lake to our coffee stop, then continue on local roads to our luxurious hotel on one of Thailand's largest lakes. In the evening, enjoy a breathtaking sunset boat tour.

Day 09 :
Patthalung - Songkhla (126 km, 227m ascent)

Today, we cycle along Songkhla Lake. We'll take a coffee break at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the lake before riding past beautiful temples. Just before Songkhla, a short ferry takes us across to the city, where our hotel is by the sea. The evening is free to explore Songkhla's old town.

Day 10 :
Songkhla - Satun (119 km, 363m ascent)

Our final ride takes us through coconut and rubber tree plantations along scenic local roads. A 20km section is on the main road, but the last 20km return to stunning local routes through tropical plantations, leading to our luxurious hotel. We'll gather for a memorable final dinner together.

Day 11 :
Transfer to Ferry & Boat to Langkawi, Malaysia

In the morning, a short van transfer takes us to the ferry. We bid farewell to Thailand and welcome Malaysia, marking the end of our guided bike tour. The ferry to Langkawi takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your beachfront hotel. Optional van transfer to Krabi, Thailand available, limited seats. Remember to check Malaysia visa requirements.

On Day 11, after the cycling portion concludes in Thailand, we offer a limited number of seats in our support van for a transfer to Krabi, approximately 4 hours by road, for those who wish to remain in Thailand. Please confirm availability with us in advance if you are interested in this option.

We took the 6 day Self Guided Tour from Hua Hin in Thailand. Lucien and Suthara took care of all the planning, providing us with good quality bikes (one hybrid, one e-bike), a full set of gpx files for navigation, and some excellent resorts to stay in each night. We also had him organise daily forwarding of our luggage (this was part of a bigger trip). All the arrangements worked seamlessly. The cycling is not of itself particularly demanding for anyone accustomed to the distances involved but we did find the heat draining. Road surfaces range from decent tarmac roads to gravel tracks and everything in between as you are out in open countryside most of the time. A great way to see Thailand beyond the tourist traps.
